Boater Education Program - with Tip of the Mitt Watershed Council

Tip of the Mitt Watershed Council recently received a grant from the Charlevoix County Community Foundation to educate boaters of their role in protecting water resources. This educational program aims to build awareness of good boating practices, clean water, and current issues affecting water the Lake Charlevoix boating community. The Watershed Council's goal is to provide easy and practical tips on helping to control the spread of invasive species, better cleaning products and habits, and proper fueling and boating maintenance. In addition to assisting boaters, the Watershed Council is working with marina operators to help promote the Clean Marina Program on Lake Charlevoix. The Lake Charlevoix Association plans to help Tip of the Mitt in implementing this program.
